Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

OTUS is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which has been developed by INESC TEC and the Autonomous Systems Laboratory (LSA) of the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ISEP). It is a customized hexarotor based on a commercial airframe. OTUS has a 900 mm diameter, a payload capacity of 4.9 kg with an endurance up to 25 minutes. It uses an open-source autopilot, IMU, GNSS, RF and Wi-Fi communication links and an on-board computer with ROS, and is equipped with video cameras (with different viewing angles) and LIDAR sensors. This configuration allows to develop an autonomous aerial vehicle capable of accomplishing real time sensor data acquisition and processing from the surrounding environment.
